Landscape by committee, and a warning
Sep 6
Stephanie’s anniversary gift was a sugar maple tree for our front yard, one to replace the tree that died at her parents’ old house in Bellevue.
It’s getting planted on Tuesday and we want help deciding where in the yard it should go. Actual tree-location-survival-ratio advice is always welcome, and the only requirement is that it NOT be planted in the same spot of the dead tree that I just removed.
So, here’s your chance to help — a picture of the front of the house and a diagram of our yard. Where the heck should we put this thing?

The warning is for any snakes dumb enough to cross into our yard and slither past Stephanie’s foot while she’s outside. Especially if I’m standing nearby with a shovel.
You won’t make it home alive.
